Toy Poodles with grade 4 medial patellar luxation had significant femoral varus deformity, medial displacement of the tibial tuberosity, internal torsion of the proximal tibia, and hypoplasia of the patella.
The radius healed faster than tibia. Wearing frames with low or moderate stiffness, the absence of mechanical complications, a larger distraction distance, and a larger bone size accelerated bone consolidation.
A protocol derived from computed tomography multiplanar reconstructions of canine hindlimbs was repeatable and reproducible for assessing the femoral and tibial alignment of dogs.
